aveleigh Gateman

Founder and Lead Facilitator

Aveleigh has worked as a facilitator, curriculum developer, and program manager in the education, non-profit and business fields for the past 14 years. To date, Aveleigh has run programming in 20 countries, including: China, Thailand, Germany, USA, Haiti, Kenya and South Africa. She loves to create opportunities for individuals and teams to develop and grow, and specializes in facilitating workshops for strategic planning, goal setting, community building, problem solving, and culture shift. She currently lives and works in Cape Town, South Africa. Aveleigh has a B.Soc.Sc in International Development from the University of Ottawa in Canada, and a M.Sc in NGO & Arts Management from EDHEC business school in France.

lizzie Llewellyn

Associate Facilitator & Consultant

Dynamic, versatile, hands-on, Lizzie has 13 years’ experience helping organisations to design and implement programmes, facilitate partnerships, foster culture and behaviour change and improve knowledge management and communication.  She is a keen problem solver and collaborator who is passionate about the importance of building awareness, responsibility and empathy into her work. She has led projects with international donors, NGOs, governments, corporate foundations, and leading technology and FMCG companies in multiple countries and sectors and loves working with organisations who value environmental and social sustainability. Lizzie has a BA (hons) in International Business Management from the University of Manchester in the UK and completed her MSc thesis from Bangor University, North Wales, on Agroforestry and Urban Policy Development.

Karen Ortlepp

Associate Facilitator

Karen is an Industrial/Organisational Psychologist with a PhD from Wits University. She has held senior lecturing positions in the Wits Psychology Department, Wits Business School and within the School of Management at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Since moving to the Western Cape, Karen has held short term contract posts with the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB), University of the Western Cape (UWC), University of Cape Town (UCT), and Get Smarter.  In addition to these academic roles Karen has extensive experience in the areas of leadership coaching and the design and facilitation of customised team and leadership development interventions. She co-founded Leadership Insight, a consultancy specialising in deepening the leadership capacity within organisations to ensure the growth and success of both the individual and the organisation. These processes have been rolled out in organisations based in the IT, Education, Manufacturing, and Finance sectors.

Martina Polley

Associate Facilitator

Martina Polley is a facilitator who believes in doing the work you love. She works with individuals, freelancers and entrepreneurs to become “unstuck” and amplify their work through self-reflection and planning. Martina has a background in media and publishing. Her work in a happy and healthy publishing house cemented her belief in the value of communication and an authentic corporate culture. Martina also works with the subtle, using breathwork and meditation to tap into your authentic self. One of her favourite quotes is “social reformation starts with the individual”.
